Role: Philanthropy Manager
Reports to: Director of Individual Philanthropy
Location: This role will be remote in the continental US, Alaska, or Hawaii
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000
The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. We are a non-profit that provides 24/7 life-saving support via phone, text, and chat. We also operate the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth and run innovative research, education, and advocacy programs. Overview of the role
The Trevor Project has driven significant growth in support from individual donors over the past few years. The Philanthropy Manager will partner with members of the Individual Philanthropy team to support the team in assessing, cultivating, and stewarding major donors ($25,000+). With a focus on helping philanthropists find their place in Trevor’s community, you will support the build out of specific donor stewardship projects and campaigns designed for individual donors and prospects at the $25K+ level. The newly added Philanthropy Manager will bring the individual philanthropy team to a total of six people, which will include three philanthropy officers and a coordinator who are all led by a Director of Individual Philanthropy. While this position is remote, team members may travel to meet with donors as well as attend small-scale in-person events.

What you'll do
- Work within the Individual Philanthropy team to align and manage projects to support The Trevor Project’s current fundraising priorities
- Project manage in-person and virtual donor cultivation and stewardship events for the Individual Philanthropy team
- Contribute to the larger IP team’s collaborative work, including sharing learnings and results, brainstorming new ideas, and maintaining strong working relationships across revenue streams
- Serve as one of our team’s internal experts on trends and strategies within individual and family foundation giving, including emerging HNWI & UHNWI philanthropistsIdentify new fundraising opportunities and work with the team to develop a significant pipeline of prospective donors. This may include prospect research, writing, editing, and tailoring LOIs & proposals, and/or working within Trevor’s existing networks to identify and leverage connections and introductions to new prospects
- Build collaborative working relationships including liaising with the Programs and Finance teams, as needed, to receive inputs for donor-facing materials
- Draft, edit, finalize, and submit donor LOIs, proposals, and reports maintain donor records in Salesforce - ensuring clean data and accurate reporting on revenue stream donors and prospects T
- Track, report on, and – where appropriate – work with the Director of Individual Philanthropy to make data-based decisions to pivot fundraising approaches as needed
- Manage one or more Coordinator or Associate-level staff members as we continue to grow our Individual Philanthropy team
- Other tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned
