Peer Support Specialist

Help us break down barriers to recovery! Seeds of New Leaf is a new and growing 501(c)3 organization in Louisville with a mission to break down barriers for people in recovery. We are looking for a Peer Support Specialist to join our amazing Treatment on Demand Rolling Recovery mobile response unit team to connect individuals in our community with the right treatment options and resources for successful recovery.

Our Peer Support Specialists provide:

• Triage and Screening for the Level of Care needed
• Assistance with Placement for Treatment and Housing
• Treatment First Program - Rent for Treatment at approved Sober Living Homes
• Transportation to the appropriate Level of Care
• Harm Reduction Resources such as NARCAN, Condoms, Education and Information

Our Peer Support Specialists must be comfortable in outreach settings. Specifically, this includes driving our mobile unit, picking up individuals, providing intake/evaluation and connecting individuals with appropriate programs and services. A typical shift may include transporting individuals to the hospital for detox, getting them a bed at a transitional sober living facility, scheduling an intake for outpatient treatment, providing harm reduction or simply listening and building new relationships in our community.

Our Peer Support Specialists are dependable, responsible, caring and confident in connecting with the community and working with individuals with substance use and mental health disorders. The right candidate for this job will be proficient in driving a van (must have a valid drivers license), completing intake paperwork and available to work nights and weekends. You will need 1 year of peer support experience as well as at least one year in recovery.

This is a night position including standing hours from 7 pm -1 am and on call from 1 am-7 am. You will also have rotating on call Saturday responsibilities. This is a contract position. Pay is $135/night. Saturday pay is $150/day

Experience:

• Addiction counseling: 1 year (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

• 25% (Preferred)
