Safety Supervisor

Homes for the Homeless, Inc. is seeking full-time Safety Supervisors to protect the families and children who live in our transitional housing facility, and to supervise a team of safety aides.
ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS, INC.

Homes for the Homeless, Inc. (HFH) is a non-profit social services organization operating family shelters throughout NYC that serve as a hub of opportunity for families both residing in shelter as well as those in the neighboring community. On-site programs range from childcare, early childhood education centers, afterschool clubs and programs, and youth recreation activities, such as sports teams, to housing assistance, case management, parenting workshops, career and job vocational training, support groups and substance abuse assistance, and family engagement and recreation events for the whole family.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise safety staff providing direction and instruction to staff on routine security tasks for assigned shift.
  • Maintain camera surveillance of the interior and exterior of the facility
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations.
  • Investigate incidents or interactions.
  • Act as the Fire Safety Director and staffs the Fire Command Station.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Security or law enforcement experience with one-year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid NYS Security License.
  • Valid F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator Certificate of Fitness.
  • Current 8-hour certificate.
  • 16-hour certificate.

Pay: Up to $38,220.00 per year
