California Community Foundation's Organizational Mission and Position Background: is to lead positive systemic change that strengthens Los Angeles communities. We envision a future where all Angelenos have the opportunity to contribute to the productivity, health and well-being of our region. And we believe that our common fate will be determined by how successfully we improve the quality of life for all our residents. We are driven to find long-term, systemic solutions addressing the root causes of the most pressing issues facing Los Angeles County. The impact we help create is of, by and for Los Angeles, because the community is our foundation.

CCF has had a long history in the art grantmaking space operating the Fellowship for Visual Artists since 1988 and most recently contributing to the LA Arts Recovery Fund, one of the largest-ever pooled private investments for arts in Los Angeles County designed to sustain community organizations, promote cultural and economic recovery, restore community health and well-being, and reaffirm the centrality of the arts in Los Angeles.

Most recently, Mackenzie Scott gifted $20 million to establish a Los Angeles (LA) Arts Endowment Fund at CCF to strengthen the region’s arts ecosystem. The Endowment, scheduled to launch in FY 2023-2024, will support small to mid-sized arts organizations that play vital roles in their communities. The establishment of this portfolio will allow CCF to address long-term systemic solutions for arts organizations in Los Angeles for years to come.

CCF seeks to build a strong and diverse community. We strive to be an employer of choice – offering a competitive compensation package, development opportunities and a rewarding environment. CCF believes in equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, or other protected status.
