World Vision is hiring a Limited-Term Project Manager to serve on the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) team.

The duration of the position is currently limited to 12 months. A limited term position may be extended, or in rare situations, convert to a regular status position based on the needs of the business.

Required Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (eight years). Requires 3-5 years of work experience in project management or related field. Work experience must include at least one year of previous project leadership experience.

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. for any employer.

Travel: Up to 10% of time both in development and fragile contexts.

Salary Range: $67,000 - $104,000. Please note the typical hiring range is $70,000 - $85,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on relevant job qualifications and pay equity. This range applies to locations with a market similar to our Washington D.C. office. A different range may apply based on your work location.


 

The Job:

World Vision is looking for a Project Manager to lead GESI program portfolio. As a vital member of the gender equality and social inclusion team, the GESI Project Manager will manage a global portfolio of GESI projects implanting GESI integration in different sectors of World Vision’s programming. The GESI project manager will coordinate with different sector teams and stakeholders. Where needed, they will represent World Vision in external and internal engagement with donors and peers. The GESI Project Manager will ensure compliance to donor standards, develop tools, and provide capacity building for funded projects. They will advance World Vision’s mission to serve the most vulnerable children, their families, and communities.


 

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Ensure that the GESI program portfolio is managed effectively through appropriate, timely and detailed communication with appropriate internal teams, donors, and other relevant stakeholders regarding major issues and successes related to the project. Coordinate with appropriate staff and leadership to encourage and facilitate the documentation of promising practices and lessons learned. On-going project implementation support includes, but is not limited to:
  • Tracking burn rate and program performances across multiple programs in different regions with varying modalities and combine that information in order to tell a coherent, portfolio wide story.
  • Evaluate the potential ROI of programs to ensure acquisition and revenue targets will be met based on fiscal year targets.
  • Engage with WFP, Peer organizations, and external World Vision Colleagues through participation and leading meetings, working groups, committees, Interaction, etc.
  • Lead close-out process (includes final reports, evaluations and lessons learned). Ensure that evaluation outcomes and lessons learned are shared with and disseminated to all appropriate stakeholders.
  • Conduct appropriate and useful field visits to assist the national offices in risk assessment, business development, and ensuring communication and coordination with appropriate staff members. Representing the interests of multiple World Vision offices.
  • Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
  • Continually seek to improve efficiencies in internal processes. Coordinating with various teams to monitor the performance of current processes.
  • Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

You Bring These Skills:

  • Sector Knowledge: Experience with gender equality and social inclusion programming is necessary.
  • Donor Experience: Previous experience with international development or humanitarian emergency projects, preferably with GESI integration expertise is desired. A working knowledge of modalities around gender equality, female empowerment, youth engagement, work with persons with disabilities, social inclusion, general trends in GESI, global awareness of GESI integration would be expected.
  • Program Management: Previous experience in end-to-end management of development programs that transform communities in need. Understanding how to acquire and integrate resources to support program implementation. Drive for quality results and success; demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving goals; persists despite obstacles.
  • Experience in gender equality and social inclusion development standards.:
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a high paced work environment. Collaborate with different teams.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with people from other cultures, religions, and geographies; respects and adapts to other cultures and seeks opportunities to enhance relationships.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (eight years).
  • Master's degree in related field such as international relations, social sciences, gender studies, etc. preferred.
  • Requires 3-5 years of work experience in project management or related field.
  • Work experience must include at least one year of previous project leadership experience.
  • Work experience including direct experience managing grants from US Government agencies, institutional foundations, or individual mega donors is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate multi-stakeholder engagement.
  • Sector knowledge and/or field experience with integrating gender equality or social inclusion is desirable.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Project management certification preferred.

 

Salary Range & Benefits:

  • The full range for this position is $67,000 - $104,000.
  • Typical hiring range is $70,000 - $85,000 a year.
