Would you like to be part of a fun and dynamic Retail team? Goodwill of Silicon Valley is looking for an outstanding Retail Store Manager Candidate, with at least 4 years of prior Retail Management experience, for our Milpitas Location

Eligible candidates must have proven success and stability as a Retail Store Manager, with a minimum of 4 years Retail experience

Our store Manager position is nomenclated as Store Director and the Store Manager is eligible for a monthly incentive plan besides the base salary

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in all functions in order to reach company and store goals, as well as keeping a well functioning store
  • Provide training, coaching and encouragement to all store employees
  • Ensure proper direction is given to all employees regarding company policies and procedures, job requirements and expectations, operation of equipment, safety, security and store standards
  • Responsible for building a strong team atmosphere and understanding of goals and objectives
  • Accountable to maintain security of the POS system, Bank deposits, Inventory, and to protect these assets from internal and external losses
  • Responsible for ability to read reports (DOMO) and other metrics and develop action plans to overcome opportunities
  • Ensure all paperwork, reports, and other company documents are completed timely and accurately
  • Strive to exceed daily, weekly and monthly production goals in both value and piece count, by monitoring the production processes, ensuring pricing staff is well trained, and flow of goods to the floor is timely. This includes ensuring proper rotation is followed at all times.
  • Strive to exceed daily, weekly and monthly store revenue goals by ensuring the store is shopper friendly, keeping all employees informed of results daily, merchandising standards are followed, and celebrating successes with the team.
  • Responsible for ensuring scheduling is based on business needs, special sales, and revenue goals.
  • Working closely with HR/Recruiting in maintaining a positive flow of candidates as well as responsible for an acceptable ratio of turnover. This includes developing a strong loyalty and retention amongst the team
  • Develop key relationships with other Goodwill departments that will help drive the businesses and help in efficiencies of the store operations.
  • Develop strong morale amongst the team through reward and recognition
  • Manage all functions of the team’s discipline through coaching, development and working with HR partners
  • Utilize all the tools provided to develop your team, including but not limited to: Daily Huddles, Leader of Day checklists, Kaizen maintenance, and daily audits.
  • Develop and Encourage advancement of all employees through training and follow up, providing assignments and work projects, and ensuring your team remains motivated and encouraged in their performance.
  • Responsible for working closely with Store Team Leader in their development to ensure they progress in their promotability.
  • Ensure all SOPs are available for the team to have access to, including both the production area and the sales floor.
  • Participate and be a strong contributor in Store Director meetings as well as with other Leaders in the organization.

Job Specifications:

Proficient in the English language

Education/License Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Experience/Knowledge Required:

Minimum 4-5 years of retail management experience

Equipment Used:

  • Ten-key or calculator, telephone, office computer, printer, fax machine, cash register
  • Other equipment used: pushcarts, boxes, barrels, hand trucks, z-racks, clothing/display racks, mattress cart

Job Setting:

Work is performed on an enclosed storeroom floor. The area is heated and ventilated. Stores have a receiving area where work is performed on a daily basis.

Dust and dirt are controlled by daily cleaning and are insignificant. Working/standing surface is uniform. Noise and vibrations are not significant; however, radios and televisions may be turned on

Physical demands:

  • Role requires some travel between sites/stores
  • Fast work pace with constant standing and walking
  • Light physical work demands lifting 30 lbs maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Large or heavy items are moved by using appropriate material handling equipment and/or with assistance from co-worker(s). Safety handling procedures must be followed.
  • Normal or corrected talking, hearing, and seeing abilities are sufficient to perform required tasks.
