The CDC Foundation is seeking a qualified applicant to join the Puerto Rico Department of Health. The applicant will collaborate and work with a wide range of PRDOH programs to address COVID-19 health disparities among high-risk and underserved populations, including racial and ethnic minorities and rural communities. The candidate should demonstrate a willingness to seek novel solutions to advance health equity.

Responsibilities

    • Organizes and keep updated the official and confidential records and files of the program.
    • Responds to emerging issues and writes communications on special assignments related to human resources.
    • Writes or collaborates in the writing required reports on materials, equipment, personnel and budgetary needs.
    • Implements new procedures and ensures that they are carried out.
    • Participate in follow-up meetings with PRDOH grant-funded local organizations with the Health Equity Program to discuss progress on mutual project outcomes.
    • Support the Director and Managers of the Health equity program with the status and monitoring of programmatic and fiscal reports. This entails the follow-ups of on-time reporting of the grant-funded local organizations.
    • Participate in the selection committee of organizations to be awarded local funding. This entails an analysis of proposals received from an administrative standpoint and giving recommendations of the strengths and weakness of every proposal.

Qualifications

    • Master’s in Public Administration, Business Administration or related fields from an accredited institution.
    • Minimal experience of one (1) year in the field.

This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation and Puerto Rico Department of Health, in order to best support the territory of Puerto Rico in their public health programming.
 
This position is located in Puerto Rico. CDC Foundation retains the right to make adjustments to this as required.
