ChildNet Youth& Family Services, Inc. is currently recruiting a Bilingual Recruitment Coordinator for our Foster Family Network program located in Bakersfield, CA.

Foster Family Network (FFN) provides various support services to adoptive children, foster children, adoptive parents, foster/resource parents, and natural families. The Bilingual Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and approving new resource/adoptive parents and providing support during the resource family approval (RFA) process. The process includes, but is not limited to: attending and coordinating recruitment events, facilitating orientations, and conducting training, initial interviews, and home inspections. Position is responsible for the input, maintenance and oversight of all administrative functions and paperwork related to approval of new resource families. This includes duties such as processing confidential criminal background checks, conducting resource home inspections, and other miscellaneous tasks. The position works closely with the Placement Coordinator, Adoptions Social Workers, Training Facilitator and Social Worker Supervisors, and is responsible for submitting various reports and ensuring all newly approved resource family files are complete. This position may also work conjointly and/or be cross-trained with the Resource Parent Intake/Placement Coordinator.

The Bilingual Recruitment Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Seek out and attend community-wide events for the purpose of recruiting foster, adoptive, and therapeutic resource families for the ISFC and TFC services programs.
  • Identify, determine, and decide which potential candidates to move forward in the recruitment process as prospective resource family applicants, in concurrence with the Regional Director.
  • Schedule and conduct orientation meetings, pre-approval training, and ongoing parenting classes for prospective resource families.
  • Assist with resource parent recruitment, screening, and tracking of all required pre-approval and post-approval paperwork in compliance with Community Care Licensing and county contract requirements.
  • Provide vital feedback regarding the status of prospective resource family applicants directly to the Regional Director and Adoption Social Workers, directly impacting the program and services provided to clients.
  • Input and maintain all required resource home approval information in the agency resource parent files and computer program.
  • Submit statistical reports as needed or requested and maintain the recruitment data logs.
  • Review and maintain all approved resource home files.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to potential resource parents throughout the approval process.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance Monitor, Placement Coordinator, Adoptions Coordinator, Training Facilitator or other persons in charge of placement, as well as Social Workers, Supervisors, and the Regional Director.
  • Transport clients when required.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

The Bilingual Recruitment Coordinator shall possess:

1. Master’s degree in social services or a related field; OR

2. Bachelor’s degree in a social services or related field AND be currently enrolled in a master’s degree program.

3. High energy and enthusiasm, and enjoy speaking in public and attending events (some night or weekends may be required).

4. Bilingual proficiency in speaking, reading, writing and understanding Spanish is required.

5. Experience and knowledge of Community Care Licensing Title 22 requirements for resource/adoptive homes is helpful.

6. Background and understanding in human services and social work is preferred.

7. A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in a foster care or child welfare/social services program setting is preferred.

All offers of employment with ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. are contingent upon a post-offer, pre-hire medical clearance with an occupational physical, tuberculosis screening, and a negative drug test. A background clearance which consists of fingerprinting through the Dept. of Justice/FBI/Child Abuse Index Search is required. Underwriting requirements of this agency include keeping a valid California driver’s license, valid auto liability insurance on file, and maintaining a good driving record while employed.
