Catholic Charities, Villa Maria Behavioral Health is searching for Therapist I who will provide trauma-informed clinical therapy who are reliable, organized and looking to make a different in the lives of others in clinic and school settings. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts intake assessments to collect necessary background information, assess medical and clinical status of clients, and establish appropriate diagnosis according to DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) standards and definitions.
  • Makes determinations on the nature of emotional and behavioral problems to be addressed and the level of therapy required, including consultation with psychologist/psychiatrist staff.
  • Defines treatment problems based on the intake assessment and diagnosis, addressing behaviors that contributed to admission to the program.
  • Develops treatment plans to establish goals and objectives for client treatment.
  • Writes objectives in clear, measurable terms, emphasizing behaviors that are required to move the client to a lower level of care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college approved by the Board.
  • For LMSW Master’s degree in Social Work.
  • For LGPC Master’s degree in Psychology or Counseling

CERTIFICATION/LISENSURE:

  • Therapist I: LMSW or LGPCThe Therapist I is licensed and works while receiving weekly supervision.

REQUIRMENTS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to act with discretion, tact, confidentiality, and professionalism in all situations.
  • Capable in the assessment and treatment of emotionally disturbed clients including knowledge of psychological and developmental theory.
  • Proven ability in identifying variety of treatment modalities (single, group, family, and play therapy) and clinical interventions appropriate to the caseload served.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in identifying client needs and developing plans to address those needs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The incumbent may be exposed to potentially demanding situations such as crises and related behavior
  • Incumbent must be able to tolerate periods of significant job-related stress.
  • Must be available and respond to work related telephone calls during specified hours.
  • May require work in areas with community violence and/or communities at-risk.
  • May require work in schools or other buildings that do not have ideal workspaces or do not offer access
