Position Highlights:

Works under the direction of the Emergency Preparedness Manager and is responsible for

creating and maintaining All- Hazards Emergency Management plans and Business Continuity

Plans to ensure compliance with all regulatory, and accreditation authorities.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for creating and maintaining All-Hazards Emergency Management and Business Continuity Plans.

  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory, accreditation standards related to emergency preparedness including Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, OSHA, National Fire Protection

Coordinates response to McKinley campus emergencies and disasters under the direction of the Emergency Preparedness Manager. Supports emergencies on other Center campuses, as needed.

  • Interface with internal & external stakeholders.

Plans and executes disaster drills and exercises.

  • Training of individuals serving critical roles outlined in the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan & Emergency Operations Plan.

Drafts After Actions Reports from incidents and exercises. Facilitates corrective action plans stemming from the Reports.

  • Maintains documentation of incidents and exercises.

Acts as liaison to first responders (police, fire rescue), County officials, healthcare coalition members and other external parties likely to have either a response or support role to the Center before, during and after a disaster.

Creates team member education material and schedules training opportunities. Maintains Safety & Emergency Management websites.

Maintains disaster equipment and supplies and ensures that all disaster resources are

easily accessible and available for rapid deployment during a disaster. Conducts a Hazard Vulnerability Assessment (HVA) for the McKinley campus under the direction of the Emergency Preparedness Manager.

  • Prepares HVA documents for inclusion in annual Board Report.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Associate degree required.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ relevant experience in Emergency Management
  • FEMA IS-100 certification within 90 days of hire
  • FEMA IS-200 certification within 90 days of hire.
  • FEMA IS-700 certification within 90 days of hire.
  • FEMA IS-800 certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Driver's License (DL) Valid Florida driver's license required upon hire

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred
  • Healthcare Experience
  • FEMA (300, 400 certification) and the CDP's Framework for Healthcare Emergency Management training to be obtained in within first full year of employment.

 

Location: H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute · Security
Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift, Monday to Friday (8 AM to 4PM)
