About Sandy Hook Promise Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to end school shootings and create a culture change that prevents violence and other harmful acts that hurt children. Through its lifesaving, evidence informed Know the Signs prevention programs, SHP educates and empowers youth and adults to recognize, intervene, and get help for individuals who may be socially isolated and/or at risk of hurting themselves or others. SHP is a moderate, bipartisan organization that supports sensible policy solutions that address the human side of gun violence and make schools safer.

 

SHP is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Corporate Partnerships, SHP seeks a driven, and motivated Associate Manager who is passionate about the SHP mission and wants to be a part of a growing, results-driven, and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, detail-oriented, highly collaborative, proactive/resourceful, and a self-starter. The Associate Manager, Corporate Partnerships will report to the Associate Vice President, Corporate Partnerships and will work with the Development team, along with the Programs, Marketing, and Finance teams, to help grow corporate revenue, and help build new corporate initiatives for Sandy Hook Promise. This position is remote.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Associate Vice President, Corporate Partnerships with building relationships with current and prospective corporate donors and in developing new initiatives.
  • Assist in identifying, engaging, and securing top-tier partnerships with national brands that will advance SHPs fundraising goals and help reach revenue targets and sustainable growth.
  • Help develop strategies for 360-degree partnerships, including employee engagement, talent recruitment and brand awareness/mission alignment.
  • Research new institutional prospects to build and to diversify SHPs funder pipeline.
  • Help develop compelling presentations and proposals for corporate donors and prospects.
  • Assist in the development of grant/gift reporting and data integrity.
  • Maintain donor records to ensure meeting deadlines and other contractual obligations.
  • Be a strong team player and work cross-functionally throughout the organization.
  • Assist with tracking of sponsorships received from the annual DC Gala.
  • Staff fundraising events as needed.
  • Performs other duties as defined and works with other teams as needed.

Qualifications

  • Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, highly collaborative, proactive, a resourceful problem solver, and has good judgement.
  • Direct experience in working in corporate social responsibility or a corporate philanthropy preferred.
  • Displays exceptional project management skillswith a proven ability to meet and to complete multiple deadlines and tasks.
  • Fluency with effective corporate partner and/or sponsor communications practices.
  • Able to work independently, effectively, and efficiently across multiple teams, as needed, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; high emotional intelligence; ability to build positive relationships and establish strong rapport quickly with others.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience working with a CRM, database management; Salesforce.org experience preferred.
  • 3+ yearsof professional experience.

 

Benefits and Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000. (New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary closer to the start/middle of the range depending on qualifications and internal equity.)

Sandy Hook Promise operates within a distributed workforce, allowing for location flexibility across the country for most positions. We provide remote office support for all staff, which includes a laptop, home office reimbursement, monthly WI-FI reimbursement up to $40, and monthly cell phone reimbursement up to $50.
