Full Job Description

Position Summary: The Residential Manager is responsible for the managing the daily operations of assigned residential programs (group homes, and/or supported living) to ensure health and safety standards for the individuals served while prompting and empowering choice; and that the programs remain in compliance with state, federal, APD, and AHCA guidelines.

Essential Functions:

  • Work schedule
  • Works independently.
  • Able to fluctuate hours necessitated to complete assigned duties and facilitate Residential Program needs.
  • Uses leave request process, while maintaining balance for unanticipated emergency.
  • Request schedule changes less than one time per month.
  • Accurately completes and submits timesheet.
  • Attends all meetings (including but not limited to management and inter-department meetings), trainings, professional development activities as scheduled and actively participates sharing ideas and concerns.
  • Manages client census and program hours for each assigned Residential location and appropriate staff resource allocation.
  • Function as a member of the team
  • Able to work in all areas of the Residential program (group homes; providing In-Home and Supported Living).
  • Uses communication tools within the setting effectively and consistently. This includes but is

not limited to: maintaining and facilitating open communication between Residential Director

and all direct care staff, internal communication, case noting (service logs, summaries, IP’s), medical

and health relating documentation, individual’s specific logs, and all other systems as determined.

  • Responsible for reviewing (for accuracy and completeness) and subsequently submitting required

documentation completed by direct care staff related to incident reports, behavioral data collection,

accident and illness, etc. as needed

  • Regularly schedules staff meetings and actively communicates, trains and mentors staff regarding policies, procedures, best practices, ongoing ideas, concerns, and issues.
  • Provide Quality Services
  • Responsible for the daily management of staff work schedules in coordination with individual activity schedules and program plans/needs with Residential Program Director’s input regarding overall Residential program needs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate intervention skills are utilized by all the Direct Care Staff when dealing with individuals receiving services – this includes but is not limited to: medication and treatment protocols; behavior intervention; physical and nutritional management; and implementation plan methodologies.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all health and safety practices are being followed by all the Direct Care Staff to facilitate and maintain each individual’s well-being, this includes but is not limited to the following; ensuring hygiene standard for all individuals whether the individual is on an Implementation Plan for hygiene or not; this also includes but is not limited to items such as sunscreen, following dietary prescribed meal plans, appropriately functioning prosthetics, etc.
  • Respects, protects, and advocates individuals’ rights.
  • Model, train and educate all direct care staff on meaningful engagement.
  • Maintains Operational Systems
  • Responsible for ensuring that a safe and clean environment, including vehicles, equipment, Group Homes, buildings, rooms, individuals’ personal belongings, etc. in accordance with agency expectation.
  • Maintains security of agency resources and personal belongings.
  • Responsible for continually maintaining individual’s personal history and medical history to ensure the accuracy of the information (includes but is not limited to the following: medical/dental reports, medication list, medical trackers, medication administration records, prescriptions, etc.)
  • Implements emergency procedures in accordance agency policies and state requirements.
  • Ensures that all direct care staff have demonstrated proficiencies and adhere to the agency policies and procedures including but not limited to: medication administration procedures and practices; implementation plans and program routines; behavior plans and implementation of behavior plans, money book procedures, proper food handling and storage techniques (ensuring prescribed diets are being followed), incident and accident (including significant events), vehicle procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all required operation documentation is completed timely and accurately; including but not limited to staff timesheets, mileage logs, vehicle checklists, fire drill, maintenance reports, incident and accident reports, menu change forms, house meetings, implementation data sheets.
  • Responsible for coordinating/facilitating to ensure that all staff remain in compliance for their accreditation (CPR/FA, Medication Validations, PCM, Zero Tolerance, annual training)
  • Responsible for adhering to the fiscal budget for each department responsible for.
  • Internal/External Constituents & Communication
  • Ensures all communications with individuals; families; wavier support coordinators; licensing authorities; state officials; co-workers; and supervisors is done so in a professional and courteous manner and while remaining consistent with the agency’s policies, procedures and mission statement and goals.
  • Respects the confidentiality of individuals; co-workers; and the agency in accordance with policies, rules, procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Ensures programmatic outreach through public relation functions, fundraisers, and other functions as delineated; and is done so in a professional and courteous manner and while remaining consistent with the agency’s policies, procedures and mission statement and goals.
  • Ensures Residential Director is kept abreast of ongoing activities including but not limited to: programmatic concerns and/or issues, personnel concerns and/or issues, client health and safety concerns and/or issues, and parent/guardian/wavier support coordinator concerns and/or issues.
  • Ensures Standards Compliance
  • Ensures that all program services and activities remain consistent in accordance with procedures outlined at the agency.
  • Ensures 65G-2 Group Home Licensure; 65G-7 Medication Administration (all aspects of MARs); and Florida Statute 393 compliance
  • Maintains all records and files in the Group Homes and Supported Living files in accordance with agency standards and those of AHCA, APD, DCF, DelMarva and other external constituents.
  • Ensures staff and per diem staff are in designated location, adhere to programmatic requirements throughout the shift and not limited but including all paperwork is accurately completed and the health and safety of the individuals is maintained.
  • Performs other duties as may be required or directed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly manage Direct Care Professionals, Supported Living Coaches, Personal Support Staff and Per Diem Staff in the Residential Program. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities can include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience, Competencies, and Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalency in experience in the Human Services Field. ( 5+ years experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree)
  • Able to qualify and subsequently pass Supported Living Training.
  • A leader who inspires and motivates others to perform well and accepts feedback from others.
  • A dependable and energetic individual who is seldom absent from work and completes work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and is conscientious about assignments.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Physical condition allowing for completion of essential function of position defined in this description.
  • Able to pass Agency for Persons with Disabilities background screening which includes FDLE, FBI Fingerprint, Affidavit of Good Moral Character and local law check.
  • Zero Tolerance upon hire and thereafter every 3 years.
  • CPR, First Aid, AIDS/HIV within 30 days of employment and thereafter to remain in compliance.
  • Core Competencies and Medication Certification Training, training completed within 60 days of employment.
  • Able to pass Professional Crisis Management training and remain credentialed at a level 2 Practitioner
  • Negative drug testing at hiring and randomly as directed.
  • English language skills in reading/comprehension, writing and speaking.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39,520.00 - $44,500.00 per year
