JOB OPPORTUNITY

Position: Program Director – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City

Salary: Salary Range $51,507- $59,900

Application Deadline: 6/23/2023 at 5pm

Location: YMCA Knowles Annex 424 Stadium Blvd Jefferson City, MO

This is a full-time, exempt position that may include early morning, daytime, evening, and some weekend hours. Minimal travel is expected.


 

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a United Way Agency sponsored by the Jefferson City Area YMCA.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Jefferson City operates under the belief that every child is incredible potential. As part of the nation’s largest donor-and volunteer- supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, mentored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children age 6-17 (“Littles”) who need additional support, guidance, and encouragement. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. Working as the Program Director, you will directly contribute to the impact on the community we serve. You lead with integrity and oversee the implementation of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program in accordance with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America standards. You generate resources to support the program. You serve as the primary spokesperson for the agency within the community. You develop relationships with community stakeholders, volunteers, media and donors. You are responsible for agency budget and personnel management.


 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate all programs and provide staff oversight of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City and Lake Area Big Brothers Big Sisters locations
  • Cultivate and manage resources to strengthen and expand programs
  • Administer a comprehensive and strategic agency growth plan
  • Serve as the official spokesperson for the agency in the community
  • Prepare and interpret agency budget while maintaining proper accounting of funds
  • Advise the Board and Advisory Committee of ongoing developments and activities and work to ensure alignment with agency mission and purpose
  • Work closely with United Way and other funding sources

 

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, sociology, psychology, education, business, public administration or related field
  • A minimum of three years fundraising and administrative work
  • Familiarity with managerial and financial responsibilities of not-for-profit organizations
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy, consideration, and reliability
  • Must clear criminal background check
