Community HigherEd is seeking a Director of Admissions (DOA) to provide leadership, guidance, and supervisory responsibilities for overall student recruitment and admissions efforts at our 3 college campuses (Community Care College, Clary Sage College, and Oklahoma Technical College). The DOA will lead admissions associates in efficient and effective recruitment, application, and enrollment processes for prospective students. Manages and works to promote the college’s merits to prospective students while developing an enrollment experience that attracts a student population in line with the college’s vision and goals. Establishes close working relationships with Campus Directors, Financial Aid, Registrar, Marketing, Department Heads, and various stakeholders.

 


Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred. Two year’s successful experience in either admissions, sales, enrollment, or staffing agency management required. Administrative expertise, strong customer service, and training experience required. Supervisory experience preferred. Experience in a non-profit setting preferred. This position requires travel between 3 local campuses within a 2 mile radius, using a personal vehicle. Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening/weekend events. Great benefits!

 


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hires, guides, and trains admissions representatives.
  • Conducts weekly meetings, team building, and monitoring day-to-day admissions functions.
  • Determine and establish daily, weekly, or monthly production goals, monitor department metrics, and maintain current reports (i.e. Lead source, cost per lead/start, and specific info on each representative)
  • Oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.
  • Conducts admissions staff performance improvement plans or corrective actions as needed and conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

 


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage inquiries to achieve prompt contact and performance activity; utilize approved recruitment policies/formats; make prompt and effective contact with inquiries and redirect unqualified candidates based upon incompatible career goals.
  • Accurately and completely explain educational programs, expected outcomes, student services, and financial considerations to students, parents, and educators.
  • Meets with, answers questions for, and diplomatically discusses candidacy with prospective students.
  • Collaborates with other qualified faculty and staff to evaluate potential students.
  • Oversees the admissions process and progress with prospective students and re-enrollment activity.
  • Recommends structural changes to the department when needed.
  • Coordinates and facilitates on-campus and off-campus recruiting events, tours, and visits.
  • Collaborates with other qualified faculty and staff to set admissions goals; Collaborates with admissions team and other faculty and staff to create and implement a plan to meet admissions goals.
  • Promote good relationships with outside institutions or groups such as Workforce Oklahoma, Tribes, Vocational Rehabilitation, Veteran’s Administration, and any other agency that can be helpful in attracting quality students.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing department regarding marketing materials about the colleges.

  • Participate in school-sponsored activities and attend graduation ceremonies.
  • Participates in a minimum of two professional developments per year.

  • Some evenings and weekend hours are required.
  • Ability to adjust pre-set schedule based upon campus/department needs on a temporary or permanent. basis; Occasionally work outside of pre-set work schedule due to department needs and /or coverage gaps.
  • As a full-time exempt position, ability to work over 40 hours in a workweek until the job is done.
  • Ability to travel frequently between local campuses and to various regional recruitment events.

 


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Two year’s successful experience in either admissions, sales, enrollment, or staffing agency management required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Ability to navigate to and around all areas of the college campuses for recruitment events.
  • This position requires travel between 3 local campuses within a 2 mile radius, using a personal vehicle.
